Rui Alves
Rui Alves is a Portuguese designer and furniture maker based in the country's capital do movél, or capital of furniture, Pacos de Ferreira. Born into a family of craftsmen going back generations, his knowledge of materials and design processes is well-grounded.
Graduating in Industrial Design in 2001, Rui has been working intensively ever since. His practical approach to design, with a meticulous eye for detail, has led to work with manufacturers from around the world, as well as having designs in the Museum of Modern Art, Paris.
